Summer for us is all about being light, free, and no-fuss. The best summer clothing and footwear we look for reflect those qualities as well. For 2026, our recommendations are a few SeaTec shirts and a pair of Archies flip-flops. Whether you wear pants or not is entirely up to you. Should you decide to wear something, we would suggest considering a pair of Graphene-X All-Rounder shorts 🙂

SeaTec

SeaTec Outfitters is a family-owned outdoor apparel company based in West Palm Beach. The brand’s high-performance sun and fishing shirts are made domestically, though they source their performance fabrics globally. Their clothing is designed and manufactured in the USA.

We had the crew neck version of the Sport Tec shirt in the Morey Eel pattern last summer. We loved the soft, lightweight fabric, the long sleeves, and the built-in sun protection. However, when out for an extended period, even with a hat, the sun will find whatever is not covered and make its presence felt.

This Summer, we are opting for the hooded version of the same high-performance Sport Tec shirts with a new pattern.

Snakehead fish are not the most famous fish species that live in Thailand’s waters, but they definitely have one of the coolest patterns!!! The skin features a distinct, reptilian camouflage pattern characterized by dark blotches, irregular spots, and scaled textures that closely mimic snakes like pythons.

The SeaTec Snakehead hoodie was our first choice as soon as we saw it.

Archies

Flip-flops come in different colors, are inexpensive, and if you are lucky, will last all Summer. The problem with cheap flip-flops, though, is that the strap will break at the most inopportune time…because they are cheap.

Archies flip-flops are different. They are made in one piece, have arch support, and will mold to the wearer’s feet. They will make strolling on the beach a whole different experience!!!

Archies flip-flops are made from a highly specialized, premium-quality thermoplastic closed-cell foam. Thermoplastic closed-cell foam is a polymer-based material (like polyethylene, polypropylene, or PVC) with a structure of tiny, sealed, gas pockets that do not connect. It has excellent water resistance, thermal insulation, and high compressive strength. Because it is a thermoplastic, it can also be repeatedly melted and reshaped.

As a result, this non-toxic material will soften and mold to the unique shape of the wearer’s foot over time, providing personalized orthotic comfort.

Designed by a physical therapist, they offer up to 1 inch of orthotic-style arch support, help correct foot posture, and feature a tighter strap that stops your toes from clawing to keep them on.

This synthetic foam contains no rubber or latex, making it a great option for those with sensitivities. It is highly compressible but snaps back and offers superior impact protection and vibration dampening. It is generally inert and impervious to many greases, oils, and solvents.

Can flip-flops that will change your life? These Archies may, especially if you have flat feet or need your arch supported in some fashion.

Designed to fit snugly on the foot, we felt quite comfortable walking on sand, over rocks, and everything else. We will have more to say at the end of the Summer, but it is looking pretty good so far!!!

Graphene-X

All-Rounder Shorts from Graphene-X are our go-to shorts for summer. They are lightweight, quick-drying, and tough as nails. We had considered getting a pair of swim shorts, but the Graphene-X shorts are so much better.

We can wear them in the water, then hang out on the beach, and, because they are quick-drying, go out to eat/whatever, wearing them soon after.

The All-rounder shorts have waterproof storage pockets to keep things like money, passports, and credit cards safe and on the person. So no need to bury anything in the sand while going into the ocean 🙂

Last Thoughts

We are off for the entire month of August. We have a few destinations planned, but some are still in flux. What we do know is we won’t be taking much with us.
