Partake Non-Alcoholic Beer: FirstTaste

Drop the alcohol, not the taste...REALLY!!!

We know, we know. We had the same reaction: “You want us to try what?” Well, we are really happy we did!

Partake non-alcoholic beers were nothing like we had expected. These beers had the foam, color, and taste of regular beer, just none of the calories, carbs, or performance-interfering effects of the alcohol!

Partake Brewing

Ted Fleming, Partake Brewing founder and CEO, launched Partake Brewing to bring what makes craft beer great to non-alcoholic beer drinkers: taste, variety, and taste…did we say taste?

To get that great taste, Partake starts with high-quality ingredients (water, barley, hops, and yeast), and then pairs them with an award-winning recipe. And probably a lot of taste-testing.

Well, we are happy they did because, we now know to reach for a Partake brew when we want to skip the alcohol but not the taste.

Eeny, mini, miney, moe…oh screw it we’ll just drink them all.

FirstTaste

For our FirstTaste we decided, since the Partake beers were non-alcoholic, we would try three of them throughout the day: lunch, after work, and dinner.

Pale: for lunch

“With a medium bitterness balanced by a caramel malt sweetness and perfumey, tropical aromatics, this pale ale is will please both beer geeks and beer newbies alike.”

Pale in color, NOT in taste

We found the Pale’s crisp taste was perfect when paired with a Beyond Meat burger w/mushrooms and vegan cheese. Everything just worked great together…clean, delicious, and completely satisfying without any of the heaviness and brain-fog of a big lunch.

A very good combo.

Note the tasting notes on the can.

Dark: for relaxing after work

After a day of Zoom meetings, writing, and other tasks, we like to sit back and relax even though we might still have a little bit of the work-day left and don’t want the alcohol “buzz” just yet. The Dark brew was the perfect choice for this time of day.

Deeply satisfying indeed.

The Dark does have the rich color and the full-body taste we expected, but wan’t as heavy/filling as the alcoholic version. The foam, while decent, was less satisfyingly rich as that of a Guinness, but then again, what is?

Red: for dinner

“Crafted with 5 malts, Partake Red is smooth and soft with ribbons of caramel malt and toast, this balanced brew will be a hit with lovers of classic English and Irish ales.”

Very ale-y, and perfect with spicy food.

We found the Red paired great with spicy food because it can hold its own against strong flavors. The rich color and full-flavor complemented, but never overpowered the food. Our only regret was we didn’t have more, because one can was NOT ENOUGH!!!

With Partake, you don’t have to worry about drinking and cooking!

Final Thoughts

We were definitely surprised by how much we liked the Partake craft non-alcoholic beers. If you want a regular beer, drink a regular beer. If you want a “light” beer, don’t drink watered down beer, drink something from Partake!
