CBD Living : Tea Collection

Better sleep, less pain, more relaxation...without the psychoactive side effects of THC!

Some of us at RainyDayMagazine are martial arts practitioners, and know that bruises and aches are just part of the path.

In 2016 we posted an article on CBD ointments for pain relief. At that time, regulations were starting to loosen up on CBD-based products, but the availability of salves and rubs were still quite limited. Today is a completely different story: CBD-based products of all kinds are EVERYWHERE.

Recently, we made a brief mention of hemp teas as part of a SleepTech post: we found them helpful in getting deeper and more restful sleep.

Intrigued by our opposite-of-scientific, non-double-blind results, we are going to take a closer look at CBD-based products in various categories/incantations/applications in 2021, starting with (what else) teas.

Teas from CBD Living

CBD Living came on RainyDayMagazine’s radar in the Fall. We had planned on giving them a quick mention in one of our annual Holiday Gift Guides and then move on. But once we tried their teas, we thought readers would benefit from a more in-depth look at their offerings.

We tried five of their tea blends and liked them all for similar reasons: They are easy to prepare, have great flavor, and offer a welcome break any time of the day, though many of them we enjoyed after dinner as most were caffeine-free.

Also, while we are not experts in the methods of drug-delivery, we do know that the body absorbs chemicals differently depending on how they are presented.

CBD Living’s claim is that their method of making the CBD easier to absorb in their teas is superior to those offered by others. We’re out of our depth on this topic, but interested readers should check out CBD Living’s discussion and make their own determination.

We should note that—as with vitamins—the FDA does not regulate or evaluate any of these products.

Matcha

Matcha

The Matcha blend is a powder (as all matcha teas are) and can be prepared hot or cold. We had it hot: 1/2 teaspoon in a cup, hot water, and stir. Can’t get much easier than that 🙂

Both the smell and taste is like that of a good green tea: clean.

  • Organic Stone Ground Matcha

A typical serving (1 teaspoon) of CBD Living Instant Matcha Tea contains 25 mg of CBD.

Echinacea Apricot

Echinacea Apricot Blend

As expected, the Echinacea Apricot blend had a nice fruity scent. We measured 1 1/2 teaspoons into a tea ball, poured 8 ounces of hot water over it, and let it steep for a few minutes. The aroma and flavor were most pleasant!

  • Dried Apricot Pieces

Elderberry Lemon

Elderberry Lemon Blend

We prepared the Elderberry Lemon tea hot, in the same fashion as the Echinacea Apricot blend. The scent was not as strong or fruity as the Echinacea Apricot, but fresher because of the lemongrass. A really nice calming drink for the afternoon.

  • Honeybush
  • Tulsi Lemongrass

Chai Tumeric

Chai Tumeric Blend

With the aromatic orange peel and cinnamon chips, hints of spicy black peppercorn, ginger and tumeric, we found the flavorful Chia Tumeric blend to be a great after-meal tea.

Berry Black

Berry Black Blend

This blend had the sweetest aroma of the five. The delicious taste of the berries (black currant, blackberry) really came through. While it does contain caffeine, we found it nice after a meal…almost like having dessert.
