Graphene-X All Rounder Shorts: InTheWild
...clothing for when it is too hot to wear clothes!!!
We have been fans of the clothing from Graphene-X ever since we learned about them in 2021. Their utilization of high tech materials and emphasis on form-follows-function design has led to an innovative line of tech-driven clothing not available anywhere else.
While we have not tried everything available from Graphene-X, everything we have tried we have loved…especially their Layer-X line. The graphene-infused fabric is strong, wears amazingly well, and is incredibly comfortable…in EVERY kind of weather.
Everything we needed to stay cool on The Fourth!
We have worn both the long and short-sleeved Layer-X tees in all four seasons. We found that pairing them with the All Rounder shorts and an appropriate jacket, we can basically handle any Spring, Summer, and Fall outdoor adventures without giving “what to wear” a second thought.
All Rounder Shorts
We had a FirstLook of the All Rounder shorts last Fall, and having worn them for almost a year now, we can vouch for their comfort, durability, and versatility. The shorts are super thin and light, and unlike cotton shorts, hold their shape, dries FAST, and because of the high-tech fabric used in their construction, stretch in all directions.
A delight, these AllRounders are. Also, much neater looking—and for so much stronger—than cotton shorts!
The AllRounders have hidden pockets, a waterproof pocket, and lots of other details which can only be appreciated when experienced. We have never worn anything like them!
Thoughtful bits you wouldn’t know were there if you didn’t know they were there.
The recent heat wave that gripped the US made many of our usual clothing choices unsuitable, but not the tees and shorts from Graphene-X! The light weight, moisture-wicking, and cooling effect of the fabric was perfect for helping us through outings on hot days.
And plus, they look great!
InTheWild
One such “hot outing” was RainyDay’s July 4th visit to Castle Island to watch the USS Constitution turn around in the harbor (it turns around once a year in order to keep the sides weathering evenly). Having attended the turn-around before, knew we had to get there early to get a parking spot that was less than a mile away. That meant we would be outside waiting without any shade for some time waiting without any shade….obviously it would be best if we wore something light and cool!
And there she is…it’s always an honor to witness this, and every single person/dog was similarly smitten.
The All Rounder shorts were the perfect choice while waiting for the USS Constitution to appear. Sitting in the sun was hot, so comfort and breathability were important factors. Also, the fabric is UV resistant…not that we had to wait THAT long, LOL.

Although we don’t typically carry cash, we did that day just in case….for lobster rolls and such. The zippered hidden pocket was the perfect place for safely storing it…safe, secure, yet easily accessible.
Safe, out of the way, but readily available should you need what’s in your pocket.
We emerged from the outing with some awesome photos of the USS Constitution, and were not overheated though we baked in the open for a few hours. The Graphene-X shorts definitely played a part in all of that.
Yep – actual cannon fire from the old girl; it’s her way of saying “hai.”

Just like the Layer-X shirts, the All Rounder shorts are also perfect as swim wear!!! BTW, the long version of the All Rounder is just as amazing. Look for the write-up of that in the Fall 🙂
