Graphene-X has always been at the bleeding edge of clothing technologies. RainyDayMagazine has had some experience with their offerings, and has always been impressed (Layer-X, Polos, shorts, pants). Their innovations and focus has been on temperature-regulation, odor-neutralization, and extreme-condition gear with high warmth-to-weight ratios.

When Graphene-X announced their Everything Proof series, we knew we had to get our hands-on and check out the gear for ourselves:

Everything Proof Jacket (EPJ)

The EPJ is a technical 3-layer jacket, crafted for challenging conditions and activities. The exterior shell defends against the elements (wind, rain, and snow) and is treated to be water repellent, so water beads up and roll off. The back has a dropped back hem. This design keeps the wearer’s lower back warm, even when seated.

• Shell face: 70% Graphene-integrated nylon and 30% polyester / EP Edition: 95% graphene-integrated nylon, 5% spandex. PU membrane. Lining: 100 polyester.

Under the shell is a thin membrane with microscopic pores that let vapor from perspiration escape while preventing larger water molecules from seeping in, simultaneously providing waterproofness AND breathability.

• Protective collar double adjusters on hood
• Front pockets feature inner zippers to reach internal pockets

• Lightweight, waterproof, breathable, windproof, moisture wicking fabric
• Pit zippers (double), inner zipper to connect the GRAnaREC mid-layer

• Taped seams

Taped seams includes a layer of thermoplastic tape applied over the seams under heat and pressure. This creates a waterproof seal and is a crucial feature of waterproof jackets, as the approach prevents water from seeping through the stitching.

The third layer is a lining that is in contact with the wearer’s skin or clothing, and is designed for comfort, moisture wicking, and protecting the middle membrane from internal wear.

All three layers are combined into a single fabric, suitable for a range of outdoor activities.

Everything Proof Pants (EP2)

• Converts into shorts
• Detachable suspenders with a stretchable and adjustable waist
• 7 pockets + extras
• Adjustable hems and boot locks

For maximum versatility, these pants convert into shorts, and has a 20k/20k waterproof/breathability rating, making them fully functional in situations ranging from tropical to arctic.

The pants have lots of integrated compartments, pockets for storage, which are all zippered for convenience and security.

The reinforced stitching, flaps, and other details are evidence of the well-considered choices that went into designing these pants. The cuff snaps and waist-adjustment system ensure a snug fit.

These pants with all of its pockets, when loaded up, can get heavy. The integrated detachable suspenders distribute the weight evenly when needed, and are easily removed when not.

Everything Proof Shirt (EPS)

The EPS is a shirt tough enough to take just about anything anyone can throw at it. It is engineered with an integrated ventilation system, pockets for gear, and its collar can convert to a high-neck when needed. Like the other two pieces in the Everything Proof series, the EPS is made with GRAPHTOUGH™ fabric.

The ventilation system has two full frontal zippered openings. They work in concert with the shoulder and lateral vents for maximum airflow, making the EPS wearable even in hot and humid conditions.

Other hidden details: internal pockets, loops for securing rolled-up sleeves, and reinforced stitching through out.

Functional, versatile, and tough…we expected nothing less.

This series from Graphene-X, made using GRAPHTOUGH™ graphene-integrated fabrics, answers the call for durability, abrasion resistance to survive extreme environments, and reliability for those looking to explore the wildest and most challenging terrains on Earth.
