Cattasaurus CatCave

...tunnel, bed, and cave all in one!!!

When a few readers heard that Reese had joined the RainyDayMagazine team as the new RainyDayIntern, they graciously sent him a fabulous welcome gift.

“I’m pretty sure this is for ME!!!”

Unpacking

Our interns have “reviewed” many feline-focused products over the years (LitterRobot, SleepyPod, CraterDots, CatCaboodle, GloKitty Collar, etc…). Normally, a new intern would go through a thorough and rigorous training program before being tasked with providing product reviews. However, Reese was eager to get his paws into the task, so we decided to let him run with this one to see how he does.

Turns out, this boy is a natural! The product is a CatCave from a fun company call Cattasaurus.

“Wow…this is amazing and I don’t even know what it is!!!”

Cattasaurus CatCave

The CatCave is made from thick felt material, providing warmth and sound absorption…the two things which most cats love. The compressed, pliable fabric is hard-molded into a torus-shaped, allowing cats to hide, huddle, and snuggle, whether for a quiet, restful sleep or a play fight with available feline friends.

NOTE: A “torus” is a surface of revolution generated by revolving a circle in three-dimensional space one full revolution about an axis that is coplanar with the circle. (Don’t feel bad, Reese didn’t know what it meant either.)

“Whoever invented this is a GENIUS!!!”

Assembly

Putting the CatCave together is simple…just zip up the two halves and you’re done!

“Instructions? Really???”

One thing we noted during assembly was that the zipper could be a little difficult to…zip. Rubbing a little amount of candle wax on its teeth made the “stubborn” parts of the zipper easier to work past.

Really easy to put together (AKA assemble).

Features

There are three fun features to the Cattasaurus CatCave:

The Bed at the top of the CatCave is perfectly sized for curling up for:

  1. a nap,
  2. perching higher to see what’s going on, and
  3. “defending” the opening of the CatCave tunnel.

“No, I’m good, stop trying to pet my face off while I’m donuting.”

The Tunnel has a wide opening for easy access, even when entering at a full run 🙂 The entrance is well-shaped, mysterious, and an utterly irresistible invitation to investigate “what’s in there?”

“This would be even MORE awesome if there was another kitten in it…”

The Window, shaped like the head of a cat, lets light in at the opposite end of the CatCave, allows for a paw or face to poke out from the inside or for anyone brave enough to reach in 🙂

NOTE: We do not recommend putting your nose too close to the Window when there is a kitten in the Tunnel; trust us on this.

“Hey a kitten ran through this and made a head-hole! Too cool for school!”

FinalThought

If there are two cats, they will absolutely make up the own “games” playing with this CatCave. For “solo play,” a small ball made from a piece of aluminum foil kept our Reese very busy for quite a long time 🙂

This CatCave is well thought-out, well constructed, and was an instant hit with our new RainyDayIntern….FOUR Paws-Up for the Cattasaurus CatCave!!!
