The Devil’s Old Fashioned
Scorpion peppers, whiskey, and bitters...oh my!!!
We want to share something—that we created!—which we think is perfect for New Year’s Eve.
We are calling it The Devil’s Old Fashioned.
The heat of the cocktail is provided by Demon Seed whiskey—a rye whiskey flavored with scorpion pepper, fresh ginger, and maple syrup—which we discovered during our whiskey tasting at the Boston Harbor Distillery a few weeks ago.
The Devil’s Old Fashioned
1. Chuck a large chunk of ice Into a glass, then add:
- 1 oz. Standard Proof Rye (or your favorite bourbon, scotch, sipping whiskey),
- 2 tsp. Barsmith Simple Syrup,
- 1/2 oz. Boston Distillery’s Demon Seed,
- Three (3) dashes of some bitters,
- A Luxardo cherry, and
- An orange peel (twisted over the above to release the oil).
2. Stir with an appropriately awesome stirrer.
3. Enjoy.
