A new magazine called Fresh Home showed up on our desk the other day with a big "LOOK!" written on a Post-It note attached to one of the pages. We flipped through it and thought "Wow...this is what RainyDayMagazine would be if we were analog!"
They have projects for the home, garden, and garage. The projects are "graded" according to skill level, cost, and time. The explanations are concise, photos are instructive, and the layouts are easy on the eye. Many of us flipped through the entire magazine in one sitting (a feat for some of the more hyper folks in the office).
The project that really caught our fancy is this garden arch. We have been thinking about making one for the Wisteria vine which has been taking over the back fence. Our concern was that the Wisteria vine would get really heavy and pull down (or at least tilt) the fence. This arch looks like it would be sturdy enough to handle such a vine.
We are going to give this project a try as soon as the sun comes back out...which, according to the latest forecast, may be as soon as this weekend!
For those interested: Wired keeps us current on digital trends; Communications ACM gives us the latest in computer science; The Week is great for a point-counterpoint summary of what happened last week in the world; Martha Steward Living and Make are great sources of project ideas; and Tricycle...well, it feeds our spirit.
