Gear & Gadgets...

The DiscHub was engineered to hold 11 CDs, protect them, and let you move them around without scratching them. The DiscHub comes in different colors. The clear one fit perfectly with my G4 Mac setup. I suppose they will have to eventually make an aluminium one for those with the new G5s!

When I first heard about this product, I didn't think I would have any use for it. I don't have a lot of loose discs on my desk. I'm pretty careful about how I handle them. However, I burn a LOT of CDs and DVDs. The DiscHub turned out to be the PERFECT accessory for parking these newly "toasted" discs before the label goes on.

The staggered slots and neoprene are the main "features" of this device. The staggered slot is very functional... it makes the discs easy to remove. The neoprene grips the discs without scratching the surface. We did notice a slight tendency for the neoprene to shift around if you are too rough in pushing the discs into slot.

The grip is quite secure...Carolyn knocked her loaded tray off her desk and all the discs stayed in place!

DiscHub is product that solved a problem I didn't even know I had... to have 11 discs neatly organized on my desk and readily accessible.

This simple product is elegant, well designed, and most functional!

I have used it for a week and it is now a permanent fixture on my desk. If you want one for FREE... go check out the offer from NetFlix here.

DiscHub hack: We wanted to keep the DiscHub from slipping around on our desk, so we added some silicone "feet" to the bottom of the unit.

You can find thin sheets of silicone with adhesive back at HomeDepot ($1.50)... check the section where they sell "surface guards".
