If you have a pod based coffee system at work, most likely it would be a Keurig machine. Keurig also make machines designed for small office and home use... like this Ultra B-50 Premium Coffee System.
The B-50 brews one cup at a time (2 different size : 5 oz, 8 oz) using a WIDE variety of flavors in specially designed "K-cup" pods. The pods look very similar to the shape of dairy creamers but just a bit larger. The pods are sealed to protect the flavor the specially grounded coffee.
The machine itself is extremely simple to operate. There is a lever, a drip tray, the water container, and a few buttons. The machine will accommodate cups of different sizes, but there may be a bit of splashing with smaller cups.
To make a cup of coffee, all one has to do is lift the lever, pop in a pod, close the lever, and select the cup size. The lever action is smooth and positive. The effect is to punch a hole at both the top and the bottom of the cup allowing for the hot water to flow through the pod.
We really like the pod holder design. Clean and efficient. The two depression on the side gives easy access for pod insertion and removal.
In the FirstUse article, we'll show how to "prime" the machine (a one time thing) and make our first cup.
