{"id":6357,"date":"2015-09-07T09:00:13","date_gmt":"2015-09-07T13:00:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/rainydaymagazine.com\/wp\/?p=6357"},"modified":"2015-09-07T10:34:16","modified_gmt":"2015-09-07T14:34:16","slug":"blackvue-dashcam-signal-and-go","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/rainydaymagazine.com\/wp\/2015\/09\/07\/blackvue-dashcam-signal-and-go\/","title":{"rendered":"BlackVue Dashcam : Signal And Go"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>When we installed a\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/rainydaymagazine.com\/wp\/2013\/06\/28\/blackvue-camera-installation\/\">BlackVue dashcam<\/a> in the Boxster a few\u00a0years ago, we hadn&#8217;t anticipated that it would become such \u00a0a part of our driving experience that we now find it odd to be in\u00a0a vehicle without its\u00a0always-on recording capability. We\u00a0have recorded many &#8220;interesting&#8221; moments on the road and have been sharing them as appropriate.<\/p>\n<p>We drive between Boston and New York City all the time. During a recent\u00a0drive back to Boston a month,\u00a0we were\u00a0reminded that people always seem to signal\u00a0when about to change lanes. This is very nice. However, what we saw many times was that once that signal had been made, the lane change was going to\u00a0be executed regardless of whether the lane is clear.<\/p>\n<p>Apparently, the signal is to indicate that a lane change is about to take place and whomever may be in the way should get the f&#8217;ck out of the way&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Note first the black SUV in the middle lane merging to the left, then later the white box truck going into the middle lane&#8230;that\u00a0silver van almost got tagged twice in less than a minute!!!<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 528px;\" class=\"wp-video\"><video class=\"wp-video-shortcode\" id=\"video-6357-1\" width=\"528\" height=\"356\" preload=\"metadata\" controls=\"controls\"><source type=\"video\/mp4\" src=\"http:\/\/rainydaymagazine.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/SignalAndGoClip.m4v?_=1\" \/><a href=\"http:\/\/rainydaymagazine.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/SignalAndGoClip.m4v\">http:\/\/rainydaymagazine.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/SignalAndGoClip.m4v<\/a><\/video><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Five minutes later, a red SUV did the same thing to us. Fortunately, the driver decided to not try and violate the physics of space\/time in with us.<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 1920px;\" class=\"wp-video\"><video class=\"wp-video-shortcode\" id=\"video-6357-2\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1080\" preload=\"metadata\" controls=\"controls\"><source type=\"video\/mp4\" src=\"http:\/\/rainydaymagazine.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/SignalAndGo_RedSUV.mp4?_=2\" \/><a href=\"http:\/\/rainydaymagazine.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/SignalAndGo_RedSUV.mp4\">http:\/\/rainydaymagazine.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/SignalAndGo_RedSUV.mp4<\/a><\/video><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Lest readers think that this behavior occurred just on that particular trip and\/or that the behavior is limited to car and van drivers, the clip below shows a tractor trailer executing the\u00a0&#8220;signal &amp; go&#8221; maneuver.
