<\/a><\/p>\nAt RainyDayMagazine, we are always on the look out for any novel, creative, or even whimsical applications (Jansjo<\/a>, SUNNAN<\/a>,\u00a0eufy<\/a>). A few readers pointed us to the\u00a0E.P. Light’s Dragonfly Lamp.<\/a>\u00a0We were thrilled as the the Dragonfly Lamp has managed to checked all the boxes!<\/p>\n The Dragonfly is delightfully hand-crafted, tactile, and whimsical. It is the very definition of functional art.<\/p>\n What’s in the box<\/a>:<\/p>\n The Dragonfly is fully assembled<\/a>\u00a0and ready to go right out of the box. It felt unexpectedly top-heavy the first time we picked it up, but it “floated” perfectly on the fingertip<\/a> on our first try!<\/p>\n The Dragonfly lamp can perch on anything stable, but sooner or later, it will, um, need to feed. Of course, the nectar this dragonfly craves is electricity. With the Dragonfly, there is no need to plug anything into the lamp or the lamp into anything either. Charging is done by just placing the dragon fly on the stand<\/a>.<\/p>\n The base of the post has\u00a0the socket for the charging cable<\/a>. One of the branches on the\u00a0post<\/a> of the stand has a charging port<\/a>. A red LED will glow when the connection has been made and the lamp is charging.<\/p>\n Tried as we may, we couldn’t get the lamp to align and charge by placing it on the stand as per the instructions, as the magnetic contacts<\/a> would not mate properly for some reason. However, we finally found an orientation which did work<\/a> \ud83d\ude42 Magnets…they are cool, but you can’t make them do what they don’t want to do!!!<\/p>\n The Dragonfly can be switched on\/off using the button, but it will also respond to a gentle tap on its body. There are two intensity levels, but neither are really bright enough for reading.<\/p>\n Still, the Dragonfly is a great accent lamp for next to the bed, in an entry way, or on a side table…and it is certainly bright enough to guide you around the house at night when you don’t want to wake anyone (or bump into anything).<\/p>\n The Dragonfly is designed for indoor-use, but it would make a wonderful piece of garden art<\/a>. While we did take it outside to the RainyDayGarden for a bit of fun<\/a>, it is absolutely NOT designed to be left outside. For that, it would need a protective finish to keep it from being damaged by the elements.<\/p>\n Hmmm…we sense a DIY project for the RainyDayInterns coming up \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\nUnboxing<\/a><\/h2>\n
