Holmes<\/h2>\n<p>Drawing, like many skills, can be acquired by anyone with the proper instruction, desire, and lots of practice. The books by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.howtodrawcoolstuff.com\/the-author\">Catherine Holmes<\/a>\u00a0takes are of the first part. The other two pieces are responsibilities of the student.<\/p>\n<p>There are currently three books in Ms. Holmes <em>How to Draw Cool Stuff<\/em> series. Our recommendation: if you are going to get one, just get all three. Why? The point is learning to see a complex shape as a combination of simpler shapes, and then seeing the &#8220;odd&#8221; bits which connect the simpler shapes to the complex shape you want to draw. Examples of that are the tips <a href=\"http:\/\/rainydaymagazine.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/HowToDraw_RosePics.jpg\">(Step 5, Step 7)<\/a> which guide\u00a0the shape not into a reasonable wine glass but into decent and identifiable\u00a0rose.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"title_container\">SCALE Retractable Ballpoint by\u00a0Shigeru Ban<\/h2>\n<p>Every so often something shows up that is unexpectedly cool.\u00a0Yes this is &#8220;just&#8221; a pen, but one cleverly <a href=\"http:\/\/rainydaymagazine.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/Pen_TipRetracted.jpg\">fashioned out of aluminum<\/a> and in the same spirit as the <a href=\"http:\/\/rainydaymagazine.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/PenAndRuler.jpg\">Staedtler-Mars\u00a0architect scale<\/a>\u00a0we have had for 30 years!
